In school, I've never been very good at doing group projects; I lose track of what everyone else is up to, and get very confused. I absolutely *could not* do group projects as a child. I am slightly better now. I am willing to work very hard to gain this skill. I am 31 though and worry there may only be so much I can change.

1) Does med school/premed require lots of group project skills? What is it like? Are there going to be a lot of group projects, or is it mostly the lecture/test format of teaching?
2) If so, are there ways I can improve my skills? What have other peoples' experience with this been, so far?
3) I have ADHD. Is the issue with group projects a common ADHD thing? Can I expect some improvement now that I am treating my ADHD (medication and lifestyle change)?
4) I have no trouble following directions when given them. It's the issue of, when we're supposed to work on a project together, and it's not clear what any of us are supposed to do. I have trouble figuring out what "my" part of the project is.

My school has one major group project 1st year but most things are tests. Unfortunately scheduling group time has been really difficult because we spend so much time studying. It doesn't help that the project is completely useless and a complete waste of time. If you do get in a situation where you have to work in a group, which you likely will at some point, I would make at least some, if not all, members of your group aware of your situation so that they can help give you specific tasks to accomplish. I find that people tend to be more understanding it they know that you have a reason for not being an active group member and aren't just being lazy. Anyway I wouldn't worry about it too much mostly you'll be sitting for hours reading notes and books. Thats the hard part.
