Interested to hear what others think about Georgia Regents (Formerly MCG, Now Augusta) vs Mercer. Would love to hear thoughts on curriculum, location, clinicals, class size, class mate involvement in other activities, extra curriculars, etc .....

I am also interested in GRU. It's new on my list. Has anyone interviewed there. what did you think?

I interviewed and was accepted admission. I got a good impression overall from the interview, especially Dr. Hasson. However, I decided Augusta wasn't where I wanted to be the next three years and felt I fit in better at other programs.

Can I ask where you decided to go?

@redrose424 I thought you were going to Emory? You did a great synopsis on all (most?) of the Atlanta interviews, still waiting on the Emory review. You were lucky (well, you probably worked very hard) to get interviews at all of Atlanta's premier DPT programs.

At the time I was going to an Emory interview (have not yet been admitted to the school). I have now attended the Mercer and Emory interviews but have not received admissions decisions from either yet. I have submitted my deposit at GSU and was impressed with essentially all aspects of their program. The only thing I find lacking about their program is that they are not part of a large healthcare school (such as Emory) so I feel like the inter professional aspects may not be as strong, but I believe that is an easy fix. I really liked the focus on research that Emory has and they definitely have the tools to get some GREAT research in. However, I felt the students were less enthused with their program, a lot of them seemed almost bored (to me) at the interview - but I preface that with the weather was HORRID so that might have something to do with it. The faculty is of high honor though, but I don't think overall I could stomach the 3X increase in my student loans. Hence, unless I suddenly have an epiphany, I think my decision is made 🙂.

Thank you! I was very lucky to actually receive interview invitations to every school I applied to, but only attended 4. Hopefully that lets a lot of people know that the schools really do look at more than your GPA (my cGPA was a 3.29 compared to the average 3.5-3.7).
