You guys who are most likely/definitely attending Gtown SMP next year:

Who's planning on reapplying to med for the class of 2005? I am still waiting on a few MD waitlists for 2004, but if I don't get in I'll definitely be attending Georgetown SMP and I will be reapplying for the class fo 2005. My questions is, for those of you in my position, when are you thinking about drawing the line on waitlists and submitting a new AMCAS and looking to secure living arrangements in DC? I'm not saying withdraw from the lists, but rather start focusing on existing options (SMP). I just started thinking about all this, but it seems like kind of a big decision. Let me know what you all think.

Thanks.

I'm still waiting on a wait-list also - but I guess kind of in an effort to not set myself up for a huge dissappointment if I don't get off the wait-list, I am gearing up for the SMP program as well as starting to look for apartments in DC. I am going to submit AMCAS in June (when I can get my act together... the motivation to submit another AMCAS and spend that amount of money again is kinda... ummm sucky?? 😴 )
As for the school that I am on the wait-list - I think that I am actually going to wait on submitting that application right away -- just so they don't recieve the app and view it as a "vote of no-confidence" if you will.

And then if we do end up getting off the wait lists... that would be pretty sweet - yeah we would have thrown some money away with AMCAS and apartment rents, but at least we wouldnt have had to pay 26K for georgetown, right?

that's where I am. here's to getting off the wait-lists and not having to worry about this!! :luck:

I'm also sitting on some waitlists. I have worked on my AMCAS app but I don't think I will submit it until late June.

I have been looking on some websites for apartments, but nothing too serious. I was planning on going to look at some places in the middle of July in case my waitlists don't pan out.

hey medstylee
do you know of anyone applying to smp that is an older applicant and do they look at these applicants. Or do they only consider students out of college.

Hi guys, I'm on the same boat....
For me, I have one wait list, and I know that I will hear from them next week.
So I will probably get ready, if I have to, starting next week.

I have a quick question though...have you guys thought about speaking with SMP's counselors/advisors about your chances or even where to reapply, given that you do well there? I definitely think getting everything done before fall is a good idea, and I was just wondering if anybody had thought about that....b/c you have to do something little different the second time around, right?
