Hi friends,

-Graduated with 3.32 cGPA, ~3.1 sGPA. Rocked first three semesters. Overall, about 25-30% A's, a s***ton of B's, and about 4 C's 2 W's. I don't have an upward trend. I have three years of A's, B's, and during my last semester I got a C. I had a very traumatic family situation after my third semester that turned into me digging myself out of a hole for the rest of undergrad.
-Bio major, literature minor
-For whatever it's worth, my parents do not have degrees
-Shooting for a January MCAT. Not taken yet. I feel confident I can do well.
-I am confident I will have excellent letters
-1 year basic science research, summer of clinical research assisting at top tier research university (for whatever that's worth), one year of coordinating research in private practice
- CNA training, worked as ER medical scribe
-3 years TAing general biology and nursing anatomy and physiology
-Pre-med club vice president and secretary, bio club treasurer
- ~200 hours of mixed non-clinical and clinical volunteering
-Musician in local community orchestra with board position
-Runner on a track club

BMS and apply DO in a couple years or just go ahead and apply DO in the summer?

Thank you for your input in advance!

If I were you here's what I'd do.
A. Buckle down these next 3 months on MCAT study. 25 hours a week at least. Try and get above 502
B. Spring semester retake the 4 classes you got C's in
C. Come back and post when you have your MCAT score and we'll help with a school list
D. Apply early next cycle and reap acceptances

DO NOT retake any classes until you get your MCAT scores in. Study as much as YOU feel necessary to score a 505+ to compensate for that GPA. Retaking classes means spending a whole semester in school and paying extra money to do so when you can just kill the MCAT and be fine with that GPA for most DO schools. I got in with 4 Cs, an average MCAT, and a little better GPA on both of your averages. Do well on the MCAT and apply next application cycle *June 1st*.

Thanks so much for the input, much appreciated. I'll take the MCAT and probably re-post here in a couple months.
