Hey peeps!
I'm really struggling trying to tease out GW vs. BID for my #1 and 2! I love the people at both places and I feel really good about them both. Both cities are expensive so that doesn't separate them. Not sure if I really care whether a larger program vs smaller program. All I know is I'm ready to get out of Louisiana and get a good training! Any thoughts or advice?? Thanks!

As for GW, it is a relatively small program, but we rotate at a couple different hospitals to get more cardiac and peds experience. GW has recently hired quite a few new surgeons which has increased our case volume substantially. So far, I feel like I am getting good training and seeing a lot. We also do most specialties, including cardiac, as CA-1's which exposes us to more early on.

Our program director and chairman are great and genuinely care about the residents. Our graduating residents tend to get very good jobs and fellowships. Overall, I think GW is a wonderful program and would choose it again. I know BID is a great program as well, and it may come down to what city you prefer to live in.
