i had a rep come in from a DME company trying to sell me something called an H-wave muscle stimulator. Anybody have any experience with it?

I had a patient raving about one of those once. "The TENS unit is a joke. The RS-4i doesn't work. But the H-wave saved my life!" Take that FWIW.

I know what an EMG H-wave is useful for. But a stimulator? Maybe its like the machine that detects pain by measuring the sensory threshold in various dermatomes  what a joke

H-Wave has no MC reimbursement......only w/c and its like triple what RS medical charges. RS Medical supports ISIS so that is who i work with for MC patients.

It is essentially a TENS machine, with reps claiming that it is different than traditional TENS due to the wave form - "It is like the H-Wave reflex which occurs naturally in the human body."

A study in Archives of Phys Med & Rehab in 1999 revealed no significant difference in post-treatment mechanical pain thresholds between H-wave and TENS unit.

I never found it to be anything special.
