If your school records it as an institutional action and you don’t report it on AMCAS, prepare yourself to not be accepted anywhere. AAMC will perform an investigation, and it may nullify your application. IAs are required to be reported, even if they have been expunged or deleted from your record.

Institutional Action

Medical schools understand that IAs happen for silly reasons sometimes and will use their discretion when determining how influential it is. Don’t allow yourself to think you can make these determinations for them. It won’t go well.

I'm missing the reason why this is worthy of a breach of the student conduct policy at your institution. If you received a documented institutional action, you may have to report it on AMCAS, no matter what your feelings are that you didn't do it. Granted, we only have a snapshot of your perspective, but there's no way we can help advise you without the facts that resulted in this sanction.
 
You need a written statement of what your record will say should any medical school that accepts your asks for a letter from the student conduct office. You may want to get a pro bono law student clinic to help you, but you need to use the exact words of your IA to disclose in your application. Your opinion about the matter is irrelevant to the task of disclosing the IA on your applications. Your dean of student conduct or student affairs should help you with that.

This should have been your 1st plan, not your 2nd. I'm not saying don't stand up for yourself. But this wasn't the right battle. You didn't get the IA for "going multiple times to tutoring." It was because you picked a fight. Why would you ever need to "talk outside?"

How is this "disruptive"? How is "going multiple times" disruptive?

I'm having trouble following your narrative and I can envision an interviewer/screener thinking that you were either A) a victim, or B) a troublemaker.
 
You do need to report this. At face value this doesn't sound that bad and I would not think it would lead to issues getting accepted, however I think if you are defensive like you are presenting it here it does not come off well. I would advise just stating factually what happened, that you're sorry, and you learned from the experience.

Even if you're not sorry and you didn't learn anything, the person reviewing your med school app is not going to want to adjudicate whether or not your IA was fair or not--they want to hear that you learned from the experience and moved on.
 
Okay, I was envisioning someone who disrupted graduation by unfurling a banner or flag (a lot of that going on these days) so this was not what I was expecting.

It sounds like someone with racist/bias had you written up and the school gave you a written warning for disrupting the tutoring center. Is that correct? I presume that this warning is in your file and describes the unacceptable behavior that you've been told not to engage in again. You should use your rights under FERPA (google it if it is unfamiliar) to examine your record and determine just what you've been written up for.

Describe what it says in your record, note what you learned from the experience and move on.

Have you appealed the decision, or is there no appeal process if you accept the charges as stated?

Yes that is what happend. I appealed and the officer for appeal said it is my word against staff and went with the staff therefore denting my appeal.

So basicaly because the head had an issue with me he stated that i was going for tutoring of my class but

The thing is i am an introvert and even in tbe recording i was really nice to him and he admitted to me being noce. I just wanted to speak with him since he is the head of the center so if u have any issues the school tells us to speak to the head of the centers first and then deans.

We're trying to help you, but please stop writing is partial sentences. Give us the facts; all the facts, in a clear and concise manner.

Will do, thanks for bringing this up. But the thing is i am trying to get this **** off my record cause it is so biased and seem to have hit a dead end. Even with a discrimination lawsuit i do not think the school will reverse their decision.
 
Frankly, if complaining to the person's boss had no effect, or the dean of student conduct had no effect, I can't see an HR intervention helping the situation. You are a student in this scenario, and HR is not an avenue for you except for the discrimination elements. And I agree, it's just you and not a group (class) of students, so any suit of this type can always use the hearsay argument against you.
 
@timothy786 , do you have a hard time picking up social cues such as body language and tone of voice? Do you easily modify your communications style to fit the circumstances?

I'm getting the impression that you were rubbing someone the wrong way in your interactions at the tutoring center but not picking up on the vibe.

Perhaps the best you can do is be very transparent in writing a brief statement on why you received the IA ("A tutoring center employee found me to be aggravating and wrote me up for disturbing the center. I dispute these charges. I learned that it is best to be calm and conciliatory when dealing with university staff who may be biased against people of my race.") You have to report this. Best to report it putting yourself in the best light and hope for the best.
