Hi everyone,

I have a question/concern about getting loupes. My school (Tufts) includes loupes as part of our dental kit. Since I am nearsighted, would it be better for me to wear contacts and get a normal non-prescribed loupes or get a prescribed loupes?

Thanks for stopping by and the help!

I would recommend wearing contacts and getting normal loupes for your first pair. The company we use make excellent entry level loupes. In your third or fourth year you may want to upgrade to higher magnification or use a different company and at that point it will be worth the investment if you want prescription lens in your loupes.

Thanks for the note! I'll keep this in mind. Are you a student at Tufts too?
