So what's the deal with Hamartomas? Are they like the Pokemon "Ditto" for tumors? They just mimic whatever they're in?

Tuberous sclerosis = hamartomas
Peutz-Jeghers = hamartomas
Lung "coin lesions" = hamartomas

I'm a bit confused because like, lung hamartomas don't "look" like lung? Someone got a better idea of this?

they're benign, and resemble an immature iteration of whatever tissue they're in.
and not all coin lesions in the lung are hamartomas.

They're non-functional structural tissues in some places other than what normally expected. They differ from choriostoma (heterotopic tissues) like gastric remnants in meckle's diverticulum.
