Hi everyone
HAPPY NEW YEARR!!😀

A bit tipsy but this has been bothering me all night.

Been taking courses as a post-bach and have taken 11 courses (6hrs and 4 credit each; 7 prereq and 4 upper so far) for over a year and a half now. Next semester, I'll be taking only 1 course (Orgo 2) and taking my DATs in April.
Been keeping my grades (A's throughout) and my nose clean and all.. til this past semester -.-. Got a A- and B+!!! 🙁🙁🙁 (along an A). Had research and club work, along with volunteering and tutoring. Guess I spread myself alittle too thin
I understand that keeping a upward trend is a major issue to adcom and feel like my chances of getting into a dental school is definitely jeopardized now due to the grades obtained this past fall. Is my chances ruined b/c of this? I need so reassurance and feeling really upset and disappointed about my performance.

Also, since I'll be applying this coming cycle, I thought it'd be a good idea to apologize in advance for the questions I'll be asking for the upcoming months. 😳

Again, Happy New Year! and hope everyone have a wonderful holidays

Cheers👍

While an upward trend is important, it does not replace a strong oGPA and sGPA. As long as your GPAs are strong you'll be fine. Remember after a few semesters of consecutive A's, how long can one go before they have a slump? It happens to everyone.

Thanks for the comment wired =)

I'm just freaking out right now, since I believe that after this past semester, there's a sign of weakness and would def. cause problems when getting considered by adcom. Along with that, I'm just disappointed in my performance this past semester and extremely worried that things will not work for me. What's considered a good BCP, sGPA, and oGPA? (considering a decent DAT score i.e 20 across the board?)

I got my first B this last semester (Organic I) in 2 1/2 years. I'm not happy about it, but I don't think its going to keep me out of dental school. I will earn an A in Organic II! Don't dwell on it, but do work hard to get an A this semester and kill the DAT. You'll be fine!

a good oGPA is 3.6 and above, a good sGPA is 3.5 or above and a good BCP is 3.5

Stop freaking out you'll be fine.
