Hi,

I'm still in high school, but lets say that I mess up on my MCATs and don't get into Allopathic, but still get into Osteopathic school. How hard would it be to do neurology, an internal med specialty (like pulmonary medicine, cardiology), or general surgery from them? Are they looked down upon for some reason and thus not allowed or what?

1. There are many reasons that people go to osteopathic schools, bad MCAT scores being very low on that list.

2. You are asking the wrong people about pulmonology and surgery

3. As a rule of thumb, it is not looked down upon in Neuro to have a DO. This does not hold true at every Neuro program, especially some more competetive programs.

4. You are way too young to worry about that.
