They all are hard. Pharmacy school is hard. Don't always look for the easy way out.

The easiest one to get into is the one you do... the hardest are the ones you don't even get an invite for interview.

haha.

I hear that it is more difficult to get into a school that is out-of-state. Schools tend to take preference to in-staters. There are always exceptions, and those tend to be applicants with the strongest overall application (gpa, pcat, work experience, good looks, rich parents, etc).

Well, I only have one of those things. However, my good looks supersede all other things. They let me in because I am so incredibly sexy. My interviewers wanted to change their sexual orientation and do me.

That is correct sir, YES!

how does having rich parents play into this again?

i am broke that means i am getting in anywhere...

It also helps if your parents are alumni or are faculty of a school. I don't think there's anything wrong with that kind of nepotism as long as the candidates are qualified to begin with.

How does this answer the original question? It doesn't. 😛

You're a pretty cool dude too. 👍 Lots of people are too uptight. I am personally a Cubs fan (hate the White Sox).:d

how does having rich parents play into this again?

Parents donate a lot to the school...you magically get in even tho you have a ~30 PCAT. Seen it happen before..... Sad but true

How do you suppose they know your parents are rich by your application, unless your last name is "Hilton" or "Hogan" or the sorts?

I was wondering the same thing...I would think a three year programs are tough.

I HATE the White Sox too, although Ozzie is mildly entertaining. Always been indifferent to the Cubbies, but am a HUGE fan of the old Will Ferrell as Harry Caray SNL skits.

Have always wanted to take in a game at Wrigley though...someday!

Back to the topic of this thread, I would agree that 3 year schools would seem to be the most difficult, not necessarily because of the fast pace of learning content but because there's less time to "unwind". I'd go crazy if I had to start pharm school right away after this semester is finished (MWU-CPG starts school in June)...a guy needs some time off (to get crunk!) every now and again! I know 3-year schools have breaks too but I like the idea of a summer break over which you can concentrate on getting some internin' in.

Back to the tangent we went on.....I have read that MWU CCP and CPG P1 students get together every year for a Diamond Backs vs Cubs game right before school starts (It was on the Vice President's blog on MWU website). Last year it was in Arizona, so maybe this year it will be in Chi-town. So your wish might just come true.....Wrigley Field baby! You might even be able to come face to face with the infamous Labrat!

That is so not true....if anything it is just between the administrators. They do not pay for students to go see baseball games!

I never said that they paid your way!!!

That would be most excellent! The only problem is I already turned CPG down...as of now I'm going to U of MN but that's only if I don't get accepted to University of Nebraska Med Center. My wife/sugar momma:hardy: has got herself a fantastic job in Omaha that would not be there for her in the cold-ass-extremely-icey-hills-galore town of Duluth, MN, so as long as I didn't f up the application to UNMC I'm thinking I should be invited to interview within a month or so. I would like to believe that it's more difficult to get into the U of MN than UNMC, especially since I have in-state residence status here in NE, but then again who knows.

Alls I knows is that it's hella nice to have my wife support my ass through pharmacy school! However, she has definitely made it known that she WILL BE retiring earlier than me...fine with me I guess, as long as supper is on the table and all the chores are done when I get home😎

Yeah, my wifey says if she doesn't go into physical therapy when I am done that she will just continue being a personal trainer part-time and be a house mom. That works too, gotta keep that hot body you know...especially after kids.

Do you have kids now? To me at least it would seem very difficult to have kids and go to professional school, not that it can't be done of course. Kudos to the people that can and are doing it though! Especially those that are doing it. But you're right...the wifey's gotta keep that hot body...it leads to more doing it. Good stuff. Except for the fact that it can lead to having kids.

Man, I don't know if I EVER want to have kids. Nieces and nephews are awesome because you can take them for a weekend or whatever, have your fun, and then fork 'em back over to their parents. Being a dad is fo real. Scary. I'm 26 and feel nowhere near ready for that craziness. Maybe in a few years...my wife every once in a while is starting to give me those looks though, ya know? Freaks me out. Love her to death though.

Seriously, I need to do some damn homework. This site is a gift and a curse.

1. Nope
2. Indeed. Oh Yeah. Indeed again.
3. I get the same looks too! I told her we have to wait at least a couple
more years. Freaks me out too.
4. More of a curse. Big waste of time and oddly addictive. Wanna quit soon.
