the ucsf secondary asks for any barriers or hardships you have overcome. im lucky enough to have nothing that automatically pops to my mind.. so should i put down anything at all? is it okay if i put down nothing?

i have a sibling who has a relatively minor disorder which has affected my family significantly on an emotional/financial scale, but is that even worth putting down? thanks.

I wouldn't. I had a collapsed lung and I don't include that.

with a 25AA? u can put down "helllllll nooo biatch!" and they'll still invite u for interview.

on a more serious note, only u can decide if u consider them hardships or not.

i would definately include that if you really feel like you dont have any other hardships that you went through

not everyone is going to be 100% honest with their application and im not telling you to lie about it but you can turn the story to where it affected you and gave you a tough time dealing with watching your sibling going through whatever the problem and also dealing with school and everything while your parents are going through financial hardships

just remember that there are many others who actually went through very tough times in their lives and realize how lucky you are to even worry about such things like this and hopefully one day you can help out others

congrats on your excellent scores and good luck!
