I wanted to know if any Juniors on here are applying to the scholarship who are interested in obtaining an MD and MPH/ MPP? I searched the board for old posts and there hasn't been one made in awhile.

I was considering applying for it and I was nominated (read: pushed) by my department to apply. I decided not to since I am going for MD or MD/PhD. They won't pay a penny for MD and MSTP is a free. So no point of applying!

I have heard cases where an MD/MPH gets you in.

Its supports you throughout graduate school (up to 30k/year). Generally, they focus on poli sci majors and humanities because they like students to be an "agent of change" and get involved in policy making. They pay for your grad school and you must do some kind of public service for a set # of years after ur education.

Grad school does not include MD...thats a problem.

I actually spoke to a REP and he said MD counts as a graduate school but you have to be also interested in MPH or MPP that relates to their mission statement. Thanks and I'll keep everyone posted and if someone is interested I suggest you apply. It doesn't hurt to try!
