so.... Harvard updated their status page today:

PLEASE NOTE: We do not enter letters for applicants until after the HMS Supplemental Application has been submitted. Generally, letters will show as received within two weeks of submitting the supplemental application. If you believe your letters have been sent to HMS, and it has been MORE THAN TWO WEEKS since you submitted your on-line HMS supplemental application, please email to see if your letters have been received.


my app has been in since early sep and i do believe all my lors should be there.... i even wrote them an email asking about my lors a month ago..
but still, my status page still shows that none of my letters was received..
is anyone else experiencing this problem?? 😕

My letters were mailed out the first week of october and my page was udated on the 24th. I'm still incomplete, website says it takes 7-10 days after materials are posted to be considered complete.

It took them about 10-14 days to update my status online after they had already emailed me telling me I was complete.

I wouldn't sweat it. My status was updated too and still doesn't show my letters. One of them was hand delivered to the office so I know they've had it a couple weeks.

Yeah don't worry about the status page. Just email them asking if you are complete and they will tell you. It just looks like they are waaaaaay behind on updating the status page.

My letters were sent a month before I submitted my secondary and they are listed on the status page, so I'm glad they didn't get thrown away. Yet, for some reason, it still says incomplete. Whatever, I'll just give it a couple of weeks. I'm not going to get in anyway. 😀

Ok so do people's letters show up then do they get a complete email?

If not How long after the letters showing up online does it seem to take to get a complete email?

I'm assuming once the letters are up we get put in line for review (once that happens we get the complete on the status check)?

secondary submitted: 09.10.05
letters received: 10.06.05 (noted on website)
august MCAT received: 10.14.05
complete e-mail: 11.02.05
complete status on website: 11.02.05

Ok, nevermind. I'm complete now.



My timelines was:

LORs mailed: ~9/25
Secondary Submitted: 10/26
Status Page noted receipt of LORs: 10/27
Complete Notice E-mail: 11/2

Ya i just got the complete email today along with the status online changing to complete. Time to sit tight and hope. My recs are shown as recieved on 10/28

I got an email on 10/27 saying my app was complete. My letters are STILL listed as Not Received. oh well.

Not to freak anyone out...
But Harvard did a great job of messing my stuff up. They d/l my LORs in early September when I sent them in and "Lost them" so they were never placed in my file. I called them pretty much every week after it was 4 weeks since I sent it my stuff and they kept telling me they were backed up with LORs. Well I finally got someone to actually LOOK in my file and they realized the LORs had never reached my file!! WOOHOOO!

Anyway-- my advice is - if you sent in your LORs and its been about 4 weeks just call them and ask them to check your file. I totally get that they have about a hundred million applicants and someone is bound to fall through the cracks but just make sure its not you!

I was finally complete 8 weeks after everything was submitted....
