Hey everyone I have applied to both Harvard HCP and Northeastern Post Bacc for Fall 2009. I know it is still early but I am wondering what anyone has to say about either program and which one they prefer. Also do all classes have to be taken at night or on the weekend, or are you able to take some during the day? How is the help with applying to med schools?

Thanks

I believe that Northwestern's post-bacc program is run out if the School of Continuing Studies (SCS). As such, your classes will be taken at night, with primarily all post-bacc students. If you want to take classes during the day, from what I have been told it is exorbitantly expensive to do so. Also, NW is on the quarter system, so that is something else to consider.

I think MB was referring to Northeastern?? But if not, yea, Northwestern is run out of the SCS and has classes at night at their evanston campus. The cost is about 1600/class compared to the 3000+ if you were taking it as an undergrad or during the day, so big difference. I dont know much about the Harvard program, but was deciding between the two as well. Now, I go to Loyola, which also offers a post bac program, but has not been given good support here as Ive had some classes with other students in the program. So Ill probably go for northwestern, as I went to their information session in October and felt good about their program. They offer their classes at night with only other post bacc students and they are generally much smaller than what you would get at other schools where you are lumped into lecture halls with 150 undergrads. It all depends on what youre looking for I guess. Good luck
