Which is better for matching into derm, Harvard or UCSF? 😀

(No, I haven't been accepted to either one of these schools, and unless a miracle happens, I probably won't. I'm just wondering.)

UCSF is a GREAT institution with amazing residency programs. Easily the best of the UC's...

But all else being equal, coming from Haavard will give you a leg up IMO. It's that whole "H-bomb" thing man.

It's really a toss up. Both are top 10 derm programs across the country. Either med school offers the opportunity to get letters from very famous names and either one will impress come application time. In the derm world, some might argue UCSF actually has the better program in certain areas (dermpath etc), although to the general lay public (ie your patients) Harvard obviously wins hands-down.

actually, either one... come application type, if it's Harvard vs UCSF, board scores will make a way bigger difference...

Doesn't UCSF have a better derm department though? Or, does Harvard's prestige make up for it?

The Haaavaaahd name has a lot of intangible benefits.

And no, you can't go wrong with either.
