Is Harvard really slow in updating info for their status page? I had sent my letters of recommendation to them over a month ago and their website still tells me that they have not received it. I even e-mailed them to check on this, but got no response. Called them and the lady who answered the phone wouldn't even check my file. She just said that if I have sent it they probably have got it. They will update it later.
Now with all the stories on schools losing letters or other documents and today being the deadline for postmarking the letters, I am a little worried. Anyone else experienced something similar?

I wished they were a little more responsive. What is the point of an application status page if it is behind by more than a month? 🙁

I thought the same thing, because they say that they will email you when your application is complete, and yet after a month of sending in my letters and application, they had not emailed me. I emailed the admissions office and three business days later I got a reply saying which letter they were missing. I assume if they didn't email you back you are ok? If they lost one of your letters, at least you'll have a record of asking for your status before the day of the deadline (email).

BTW, where did you find the application status page online? I can't find it anywhere! Thanks a bunch 🙂

Check these links:

http://application.hms.harvard.edu/ (the second link on this page, right below the "complete you HMS secondary" link)
http://application.hms.harvard.edu/page80.asp

I was finally able to find some nice person to actually check my application for me. He said that they had received my packet of letters, but the status page wasn't updated yet.

hope this helps! Just be aware that the page might not be the most up-to-date thing you can find 😉

That is seriously hilarious!!! Especillay when I try to imagine our mailman running fast to put that letter in the mailbox (let's just say he is really really really SLOW!) I guess on the bright side, at least they don't let you die a slow painful death like some other places😀

But yeah, I gotta admit, to some extent those quickies are even more painful, cause you feel like Damn-It!!! I spent all those hours and killed myself to the point of perfection and aaaaaaaaaaaaaall it took them was a 30 sec look! I got one of those from Duke and wasn't happy at all.
