I'm wondering if there has been any movement at all on their waitlist??

Have they typically had late wait-list movement--like in July or August?

any info would be great ....thanks

thanks for posting on aecom...i would absolutely love to go here but i was wondering the same thing about them...has anyone been accepted off the waiting list yet??? if so please post or if you have any updates on the school---i am trying to keep my hopes up but it is mid-june already...any info or updates would be great!

I don't think Einstein's waitlist has started to move yet, or is expected to until the beginning of July. They interview until May so it takes them until the end of June to make decisions about all the people they interview, then they start looking at the waitlist. At least that's my understanding. My advisor told me not to expect to hear anything from them until July.

Einstein's website also has some helpful info about their waitlist, so if you're interested check it out. It looks like they chop the waitlist in half sometime in May or June, and if you make that cut (i.e. don't get rejected then) then you have a good shot at eventually getting in.

thanks jennie for the really helpful info! i didn't know any of that stuff you just told me about...the thing is that i can't find where itsays that on the website can you give me the web address if it isn't too much of a pain for you??? thanks.

I haven't heard anything from Einstein post interview (March 25). The admissions office told me that they wouldn't get to my file until June. However, I will be withdrawing my application soon.

which one would you choose and why?

I am holding a spot at Jefferson...classes start pretty early on Aug. 4 and I am trying to figure out how long I should wait out for the 2 waitlists i'm still on (Einstein being one of them). I have to start looking for housing in Philly by the end of June...when should I give up on the other schools and start to get settled down in Philly? How likely am I to find out something from Einstein before July 15?... Also I am supposed to live with a friend at Jeffeson and I don't want to screw him over by picking up and leaving the day before classes start....So confused 😕

Any advice would be really helpful!!!
Thanks

okay, the weirdest thing just happened to me. I just got an email from Noreen Kerrigan of the AE admissions office. I had completely given up hope on them b/c they hadn't contacted me since my interview on March 17th. And I hadn't contacted them either, no LOI no nothing. They didn't even put me on a waitlist or anything!

So then i got this email out of the blue and it says:

"I am happy to inform you that the Committee on Admissions of the
Albert Einstein College of Medicine has very favorably reviewed your application. At this time we would like some guidance from you regarding your level of interest in attending Einstein."

I think it is an acceptance letter contingent on AE being my first choice! Isn't that weird? So all you out there, there is still hope!

I've been accepted at Mount Sinai and am pretty sure I'll be going there, but what do you guys think? Sinai or Albert Einstein?

I have until June 23 to chose.

cheers,

I too received that email this morning. I think they just want to make sure that if they offer an acceptance, that we would take it. They don't want to waste their time either. Perhaps if it wasn't so late, I would have considered them more. However, I'm pretty sure I'll be at Drew/UCLA.

Following the other responses, Einstein or Drew??

I would give advice on Einstein vs. Sinai, Jefferson, or the other school, but I don't know enough about them.

thanks snoopy!

i'll go an check it out right now. =)

For those that recieved the email. This basically constitutes an acceptance if you want it. Basically, if you say the school is your first choice you will be accepted. I recieved the same email a while back and am currently holding an acceptance at Einstein. Just be patient because it took two months from when I got the email to get an acceptance (March to May). It prolly wont be that long for you. Congratulations!

Does anyone have any specific info about when Einstein's waitlist will start moving?

thanks for the link jennie!!! i was wondering the same thing too about waitlist movement...i never got that email🙁. i was wondering if anyone knew if they have rejected people post interview???

You're welcome. They DO reject people post-interview. They interview around 1200, waitlist 400, and probably accept about 200-300 initially... so that means they must reject about 1/3 of those they interview. Also I saw somewhere on their website that they accept 1/3 of interviewees, waitlist 1/3, and reject 1/3. So if you weren't rejected there is hope.

hi jennie---do you know if they are still rejecting post interview or is it just a waiting game now??? it seemed it said on the link that they have already rejected those they wanted to.

any news from aecom lately??? just wondering...i heard there should be some movement going on in july but i haven't heard a thing...i wonder how big the wl is right now and how many more people might possibly be accepted...if anyone has any info ---please post!! thanks!!

I'm going to be withdrawing from the waitlist, since I got into NYU, my first choice. Good luck to those of you still waiting on it! I hope it starts moving for you soon. Don't know why there hasn't been any movement yet. It's weird.

is einstein hard to get into? whats the average mcat and gpa?

The waitlist has been shrinking throughout the summer, so if you are not yet rejected, youare lucky. The list should have 50 people only now and it is just a pool, no ranking.

I asked and she said they would not take anyone off until "late July" I think that will be starting 7/21...it sucks to wait this long, but they usually take 20-30 people...they are my best hope of my 6 waitlists...🙁

so they said the wl would start moving more on the 21st??? i am still waiting to hear and i would absolutely love to hear from them...if there are only 50 people left and 20-30 get accepted that is pretty good...i hope i am one of them b/c i absolutely loved the school! please post any new updates! ps do people know if they mind getting phone calls??

just thought you guys would like to know that there has been movement

i was accepted on 7/7

as an aside ... im not sure if this waitlist movement.

i never received anything saying that i was on the WL. i did receive that email other people got saying ... your application was reviewed favorably ... yadh yadh yadh

oh, it was by email first followed by a letter. i dont know if this usual. they know im in peru so email prob seemed more sensible.

You were accepted late, but were never placed on the waitlist.

This is NOT waitlist movement, as I was told "we will not take anyone off of the waitlist until late July b/c we are a little behind this year." I asked and she said they were about "2 weeks behind."

Do not scare me like that, lol😛

Well, I'm sure you guys will be happy to learn that there will be one more spot available at Einstein. I'm withdrawing my acceptance in favor of attending UCI. Einstein was a great school but couldn't pass up a UC. Hope someone who really wants to go gets my spot.

so should there be some movement starting the 21st???

Just to confirm, I had emailed Dean Kerrigan who told me she expected the third week of july (kind of late, don't you think?)

so that makes 49 people now 😉

I got into Pritzker today, still cannot believe it.
I am withdrawing from all other schools except Sinai, good luck to you guys.

Remeber there has not been ANY waitlist movement at Einstein, so out of 50 they usually take 20-30, those are good odds...😀

AMAZING...I still cannot believe it...😍
