I'll be at IC this Friday. I feel like I don't know much about the program, even after doing my homework on Frieda and APGO. It seems really strong, but their low program completion rate is a red-flag to me.

Hey -- i'm going to be there this Friday as well! 🙂 am flying out earlllllllllllllly in the AM to chicago on thursday -- and driving to Iowa (that was the best ticket- -but it will be a long day thursday) it's ok though.
havne't done my homework on Iowa yet.
I had my first interview today -- and it was really layed back and relaxed. so all that sleep i lost wasn't worth it. so im now looking forward to more interviews -- instead of being scared of them like before.
i have a friend that goes to iowa for med school and i asked her about the drop-out/incompletion rate...most of the stories seem rather random and specific to each individual rather than a problem with the department. one of the interns this year is switching to anesthesia. one of the former residents dropped out her 4th year after having a baby. so as i said it seems situational versus people leaving the program because they are unhappy there. according to her the residents have great comraderie and are a pretty tight-knit group. good luck in your interviews
