Hi, I didn't volunteer in Mexico but I have volunteered in Panama. I went to UC Riverside and there is a club called Global Medical Training. I believe that your school, UC Irvine, has one as well. It is a bit pricy but it will give you wonderful opportunity to volunteer abroad and get hands-on dental experience. I strongly recommend you to at least get some information from UC Irvine's GMT club.

I believe USC's dental school has a program they are affiliated with called AYUDA. They go to other countries as well as some local clinics in and around L.A. It might be worth checking out.
