I've heard that UofT has sent out invites for those in the GTA. Has anyone heard anything?

Apparently the invites are only for PhD/MD candidates. Someone on premed101.com posted that their letter specifically stated that MD invites would go out in a week or two.

However, I wish the site was up so I could keep an eye out for when MD invites start (if they haven't already).

dont worry if you havent gotten a UofT interview. They send interview invites in "batches". You can get it any time from Jan-April. It really depends when they review your file...

I didnt apply to UofT this year...good luck to all those that get an interview 👍

I doubt letters were sent for the MD/PhD candidates only. The application to this program is actually composed of 2 entirely different applications. It's more likely that they may have been invited for the PhD program and not the MD yet. I know of a person who got accepted to the PhD program but was rejected from the MD program. The 2 programs, or so it seems, don't communicate with each other.

From what I recall from my classmates who were interviewers last year, the MD interviews for MD/PhD applicants did occur earlier than the regular MD program. But it is true that you have to be independantly admitted to both programs. So if you only get into the PhD part then you are out of luck, but if you only get into MD, you're at least going to med school (and I think you can reapply to the PhD program in 1st year).

A number of people I know have gotten invitations for interviews at U of T and they all applied the the MD PHD program. I don't think theres much to worry about yet. I know that invites get sent out until the middle of march.

I know of one person who has garnered an interview, but I believe they also applied MD/PhD.

This is not true. MD/PhD interviews are earlier than MD only interviews, and consists of a traditional MD interview + an MD/PhD committee interview in one day. After completing the first year of medical school MD/PhD students 'apply' to their graduate program, but most are assured an acceptance.

I guess a nice end to a thread I started is: I got one =)
