Yes! I posted a LOT here last year when I was going through the very long and stressful ordeal of being waitlisted at my first choice school while I was accepted at my 2nd choice school. I wanted to have as much information as possible to make the most informed and best decision I could make, so I asked lots of questions. In the end I got in, but only a few weeks before classes started and after I had already gotten an apartment at my 2nd choice school. But a bunch of my classmates at my 1st choice school have said things to me like, "Oh, that was YOU on SDN?! Wow, you're so different than I expected! You're so nice in person...you know, you were really annoying on SDN."

So I guess I came across badly because I cared so much, and was obsessed with getting into the school I'd dreamt of attending ever since I heard about their unique curriculum. What I'm hinting at here is that there's definitely reason to think twice before flaming someone for posting an "annoying" question they've asked before, because a person is a lot more than their "stupid question." Maybe they're just trying to get as many responses from different people as possible, or maybe there are reasons you might not have even considered. Or maybe you're just in a bad mood, or having a bad day. Why take it out on someone else?

In this sense, I think almost everyone is misrepresented here a bit in that unless you're posting hundreds and hundreds of times on a huge variety of topics, especially in chill places like the lounge, no one really gets a sense of "who you are," because mostly we're asking questions and giving answers about very specific subjects.

Anyway, there's my two cents... 🙂
