Havent Heard from a Single School Either Way

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hi, so I am kinda a nontraditional application for this cycle. I applied to 16 schools mostly targets. I was complete at all schools between mid august and late august. My overall stats are 3.63 cgpa, 3.9 sgpa, 512 MCAT (128,128,128,128). So my question is it normal to not have heard from a single med school either way (Rejection or II)?
You're not in the "Superstar" category, which tends to get cherry-picked and reviewed first, but you have very nice solid stats. They'll get to you eventually.

This is normal. Patience is a virtue.

Keep in mind these schools get up to 15,000 applications every cycle.

What was your list?

UConn, Quinnipiac, Tufts, Einstein, Temple, Drexel, NYMC, Darthmouth, UVM Med School, George Washington, Georgetown, Jefferson, Albany, Hofstra, Rochester, Brown, Seton Hall, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, NYU

Double check your George Washington portal. There's a strong chance that you are on "hold" there- they place a lot of people in this category and don't send email updates about it

NYU and Brown were donations. If you not a resident of either CT or NJ, Rowan and U CT are likely donations as well.

The others schools? You should get some love from.

Trust me I know about the NYU donation. I only applied because several of my family members (siblings, cousins, parent) are doctors there, which I listed on my application.

As for Rowan, I actually work (fly-in fly out) of philadelphia so I actually volunteer at the hospital and I went to UCONN and am a resident there. Outside NYU, I think they're all reasonable, tho maybe Rowan is kinda long shot.

Seems reasonable for U CONN and Rowan. What is your state of residence?

Brown highly favors their own UGs.

Your right, I'll send an update letter to them! Thanks!

With your stats you will do well to add some DO schools. It's not too late.

Consider:
Cooper
NYITCOM
PCOM
UNECOM
LECOM

Thanks for the advice, I don't know if I would apply to any DO's because the residencies I'm interested in aren't really possible with DO. My situation is bit unique because I have a really good job right now as an engineer. I don't want to go down the DO route.

outside of Uconn, NYU, Cooper, Seton Hall, and Einstein, I applied to every other school on your list and the only one of those I have heard anything back from is Qunnipiac which I got a got a II from a few days ago, Keep in mind I was complete mid-late July so a full month before you. and George Washington which you have to check the portal to let you know you have been placed on hold.

Does this imply that it is still rather early in the cycle and OP still has a shot?

This thread speaks to me lol ... very similar stats, also nontrad, also would like to stay in the Northeast, and also dead silence. Hang in there, hopefully we hear something soon
