Probably surplus on the main island (vacation spot) and possibly shortage in the other islands. That will probably change very quickly once UH-Hilo starts graduating some pharmacists.
I doubt the Big island is more of a vacation spot than maybe Oahu. What do you mean by change? How will it change?
Well I know the Big Island in particular is hurting very badly for primary care physicians and pharmacists. Salary-wise I hear they make about the same on the mainland west coast areas. But you also have the high cost of living, houses start at like 350k+, groceries are ridiculously overpriced - namely produce or anything grown. Myself, being from the midwest, "could never afford living in hawaii". Where i'm from 350k buys an insanely nice house, milk isnt $5.50 a gallon, and the cost of living in general is pennies comparatively.anyone practice in hawaii?
What's it like? expense, cost of living, salary wise.
issue/complaints about the pharmacy practice there?
A new study puts Honolulu as one of the most "unaffordable" cities in the world, at #2. Vancouver, where I am, is #4.

Anyhoo, don't have anything else to contribute except to say that I'm going to Waikiki for spring break!!!!!!! 🙂
I don't like Waikiki, but that's just me. There's always 12,394,503 people there.
