Hey guys,
For those of you who are at independents, what do u do about health insurance? Or if you’re at a chain, what do the costs look like? I tried looking at private health insurance and they still ask for your income. Why does your income matter if you’re not applying for medicaid/government assistance? Is there a direct linear relationship like the higher your income the more expensive health insurancw will be? That wouldn’t make sense though lol.

It sucks I’m coming across monthly premiums that total to about 5,000 a year plus $7500 deductible before anything is covered

Basically, this is a weird hybrid of market / democratic socialism in action.

You went to school and worked hard for the privilege of paying for subsidies.

Best bet is get married to a spouse with coverage. Allows me to work at an independent that doesn't offer coverage. Back at the chain store got hit for $225 every 2 weeks for ok medical coverage.

450 per month and it covered only you or also others in your family? How much was your deductible?

Haha, sometimes I think it pays to be “poor” in America

This was almost 4 years ago so I'm sure its gone up. It covered both my wife and myself. Don't remember the details of the deductable but it wasn't horrible. Then again I never used the insurance.
