Hi everyone!
Recently I had practice in Uzbekistan and I’d like to tell something about its healthcare.
Frankly speaking I was shocked by Uzbek state health facilities... because they are empty while private folk-medicine ones are overcrowded. I asked Ergash, my Uzbek counterpart, what’s going on and he told me that all money for developing healthcare in Uzbekistan from Europe and US are misused and medical personal is being forced to poach, like farming to fulfill state’s plan. Uzbek ministry of health in its reports to sponsors say that health situation in the country is changing to the best, but it dissembles. In point of fact Uzbekistan faces high lethal level, growth and spreading of HIV and tuberculosis, etc. Ergash said that Uzbekistan is highly corrupted so the money for healthcare are being plundered by high officials, including country’s president Karimov. The situation is disturbing because Uzbeks are fleeing taking their families and bringing devastating diseases to the rest of the world. I guess it’s time to bring Karimov to account, because such situation is inadmissible.
Hope this info somehow will help you.
