What are your thoughts? What do you think the trends will be in the therapy profession? A higher PTA to PT ratio where PT is more of a manager in order to reduce costs of healthcare? Will we see the opposite trend where PTs are actually doing the "hands on" therapy treatments? How will "pay for performance" ultimately affect compensation in the PT profession? How does one measure an increase in performance? (Body Mass Index changes, Biomedical Markers such as blood sugar levels, or patient feedback)?
The idea of implementation of the DPT is increased use of "direct access." The article states that an integrative approach is needed among physians as well as their nonphysician colleagues (PTs?) in order to help enhance patient care. What do you think? A market trend towards utilizing direct access from PTs? Will the DPT give the credibility hoped?
