I was wondering if anyone got anything from MUSC?

I haven't heard a thing. I checked online and it said my application was complete, so I am starting to get very nervous....

Mine was finally marked complete on 9/15, I haven't heard anything either.

heh ... i'm not, but my father went there. i'm hoping that'll at least convince them to give me a good look. i was also born there, if that counts for anything (doubtful).

MUSC is definitely a "good ol' boy" type of place. In fact, I met with Dr. Javed a while back and his first question to me was, "Are you related to anyone who graduated from the D.M.D. program here?"
So, apparently, that carries A LOT of weight.
I wish that were the case for me. My Dad went to dental school at VCU. I can't stand Richmond and won't live there. I got my undergrad ed here and I love it. So, I got residency. I know that helps my case. But, still very competitive.

I am not from there, nor do I have a family member who graduated from MUSC, but I love the school just the same. I figured there was no harm in applying...even though they apparently take only three out-of-staters.

Yeah, there are 3 out of staters in my class, CDM-1. Interviews started in September, and there are 2 interviews per month until about February. If you're not hearing nothing from them, I would call them and ask them about your status. Best of luck 👍
