Has anyone heard any post interview feedback from programs yet?

Got letters from San Antonio & UMich.

I got a prank call from an attending on my voicemail...

What do you exactly mean by 'feedback'? Do you mean the post-interview letter stuff? Or do you mean something else?

If you mean post-interview letters, I got em from UMich, CWRU/Metrohealth, RIM, Rush, Schwab, Beaumont. They really didn't say much tho'. Glad to meet you, impressed with your CV, hope you strongly consider us, blah blah blah.

I never heard anything back from CWRU/Metrohealth, does that mean anything? What did they say to do? I thought they are supposed to call the applicants letting them know that they are going to rank us. Has that happened yet?

That does not usually happen. Technically, it is against the match rules for a program to say so. What if a program tells you that they will rank you high but does the total opposite? However, a DO or FMG can still be offered a contract outside the match. I got the same or similar letters that Finally M3 received. A couple say that they were very interested in me and blah blah. I would not look too far into some of these post-interview letters.

I got an email from Dr. Clark yesterday. Essentially what he said was that I was ranked by the program (not where) and if I preffered the categorical or advanced spot.

just a word of caution of the "you are ranked to match" letters and phone calls:

I got 5 such letters (these were separate from the "thank you for interviewing" ones) last year from transitional year programs... I wound up ranking 4 of those as #1-4. And of course, I matched at my #5 choice

For pm&r programs, I got no letters but 3 "ranked to match" type phone calls. I can't tell you if those were as shady since I got my top choice

As far as the legality of the whole thing, according to a former lawyer (now m.d.) friend of mine none of this violated the match rules. Any program is free to tell an applicant how they fell about them (and vice versa), but neither party is allowed to ASK or otherwise try to solicit this information in any other way.
And I'm sure that NEVER happens 🙄

I dont think that the big programs are gonna really give anyone feedback. Places like kessler, jfk and NYP get so many applicants who are willing to rank them within the top three. They pretty much have their pick of who they want, so they will probably just go through the match and take whatever they get, cause chances are they will get strong applicants anyway.

I've certified my ROL....I'm just gonna enjoy the rest of 4th year (after I finish my ER month) and have fun! It's out of my hands now!

I got responses/letters from Kessler, UPenn, UMich, Baylor, and Mayo. Some were obviously generic, others were generic with a personal one liner at the end, and others were totally personal.

I'm not putting too much weight on them. The only one that swayed me was from a PD that I really clicked with who sent me a hand-written card and a personal hand-written note from an associate PD. Just because I felt more of a personal connection with them. However, I am still going to rank programs that didn't send me anything and am going to trust that I will end up where I'm meant to be. I was starting to get an ulcer about my rank list but I think I'm going to certify it soon.

The transitional year/prelim program letters I am taking with a grain of salt since I know they tend to be more competitive. I think PM&R is a little more honorable/honest field as a whole.

When I applied, I got the most personalized responses from UC Davis, UTHSCSA, and Baylor. One of the residents at UTHSCSA called me a couple of nights before the ROL closed. Baylor also sent me a letter after the match asking me to fill out a form indicating what things they could change to make the program more attractive. I thought it was pretty cool that they did that and I think other programs could definitely benefit from that type of feedback. I didn't hear anything from Spaulding which is where I matched. I've also noticed that no one has mentioned anything about Spaulding this year? No one from SDN bothered to interview here?

Maybe that is because so many of us were rejected, including myself. Spaulding seems to be more selective than ever. Ironically, many interviewees that were rejected by Spaulding got interviews at RIC, Seattle, MCV, Kessler, Baylor, and other programs at or above the level of Spaulding.

heard personalized replies back from UW, Baylor, UCDavis, Stanford. However, as mentioned earlier... I would not put much stock into these. There are always stories of program directors saying that a candidate is a "top choice", "at the top of the list", etc., but the candidate ends up not matching at that place.

It's always a nice ego boost, but don't bet the bank on these. I've heard that programs like the reputation of not having to dip too deeply (ie, low) into their rank lists, so it's always helpful to have the candidates ranking their programs really highly.
