So I know this sounds silly, but when someone has RCA atherosclerosis or whatever, do we assume that the posterior descending is gonna be screwed too?

I feel like this keeps popping up and I keep getting it wrong. It'll be like "oh someone's posterior ventricle is infarcted what's the cause" and the answer will be "RCA occlusion" or something. I just feel weird assuming that just cause the RCA is messed up that the PDA will be messed up too.

Thoughts?

The PDA gets its blood supply solely from the RCA in ~85% of people, so yeah, if flow through the RCA is impaired, there's a good chance that the PDA's flow is impaired as well.
