Does anesthesia during surgery elevate your heartrate? My typical resting heart rate is 58-62, but during my surgery, it was 80 while I was asleep. Was this due to the anesthesia, or the pain my body realizes? Just obsessed because I used to be overweight, then got a heart rate monitor, exercised regularly, and reduced my weight as well as heart rate. I keep reading a lower heart rate is an seen in active people.

I just feel like 80 is pretty high when I'm just sleeping.
