Anyone from NYC participate in the program? I wanted to get an idea of what sort experiences you had, if you recommend it or not etc.

It sounds like a good program with a lot of choices in Public Health. So if anyone has any more info, I'd really appreciate it 🙂

hi
i did this program 3 years ago and actually was quite successful; my paper won first place. the hrtp program is pretty cool but that also depends on the field placement you get. my project had to do with west nile surveillance which was a very hot topic that summer and so we got a lot of funding. that may have changed now. i would definitely apply and see which placement you get before making a final decision.
good luck

I have a friend who did this and he liked it. I think it does depend on the placement you get and you have to be sort of proactive in choosing. Overall, it was a good experience he said altho the payment is kind of slow. You need to get your paperwork in really early, like February, and remember you're dealing with the City payroll system.

Hi,

Will someone be kind enough to explain to me what this program is all about, please? Thanks!

sgilani and Paws: Thanks for the input 🙂

sgilani: Wow congrats, thats fantastic. By the paper winning first place, you mean there is some sort of a competition or judgement at the end of the program?

Paws: Yes, I realize the situation about the placement. I chose Cardovascular diseases as my first choice, would it be possible to get an idea from your friend, regarding the placement. I mean say you choose Cardio as #1, would it be likely to get that placement? Yea the slo funding is to be expect with NYC and all.

pyau03: Sure. Check out:
