hi there,

i need some input from current dental students about something important,,,partying.....how often do u get the chance? i know some of you may fall into the category of nerds in which case you wouldn't party even if you have the chance, so I want input from the cool dental students...yes, all you cool kats come in here and give me some advice....do you guys manage to work hard and party hard as well....because i imagine if you work hard throughout the semester without letting loose a few times, i dont know about you all, but i'd burn out. so lets hear it, something useful hopefully

You can party and still have decent grades too. I think it depends a lot on the strength of your science background. If you're an art major who only took the pre-reqs, you may have to work more than the bio major.

that sucks,,,i'm not a bio major.
just curious, what do you consider as "decent grades", and are you hoping to specialize once you graduate

A few important words of advice for dental school. First and most importantly, remember to sit with the cool kids at lunch on your first day of school so they will like you and invite you to the partys. And whatever you do, DO NOT associate with the nerds. Don't even acknowledge their existence. They will totally ruin your coolness if you do. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time in dental school.

Maybe that's why nobody sits next to me at lunch. Or is it my metal Smurfs lunchbox?

You will find out quickly how much you need to study to get the grades you want. I could not study for any test with out a light at the end of the tunnel. If we had a huge test on Monday I would study over the weekend knowing that I would be going out on monday and tues. the nice thing is everyone is on the same schedule so it isnt hard to find 4 or 5 people to go out on a tues after a big exam. We are all struggling to keep that nerd inside of all of us locked up, but skip a few good partys or bar nights and say good bye to mr. cool.
