HELP!! about DAT

I am applying to dental schools next year.
I am planning to take DAT's 2010 July because I will be done with all required coureses (BIO1,2, ORGO1,2, CHE1,2, PHY1,2) in the beginning of MAY 2010.
So, I will have about 1 and a half to 2 months to study DAT's for July one.
My Question is.. What if I don't do so well on the July one..??
Should I wait 3 more months, and take another one at October?
Wouldn't that be too late and give me lesser chance to get into the dental schools?
also Would 1 and a half to 2 month of studying DAT enough?

LOL, I actually responded to your other post as well about the recommendation letter. Let me tell you we are in the same exact position, assuming I finish all my prerequisites by May...I'm planning on taking General Chemistry I, Orgo I, and one Biology in the Fall and then General Chemistry II, Orgo II, and another Biology in the Spring...that is, IF my school let's me do this, I'm crossing my fingers...I already took a Physics course but from what I've read is that there's none on the DAT. I think that you should be good if you trully give it your all during that time before the test and even if your scores aren't good enough, October is not ideal but you still have chances getting in...trust me I'm on the same boat as you, I'm pretty nervous about not doing well the first time and that I might take it in October/November. Just be sure to apply to a lot of schools to increase your chances of getting in..I wish you luck

There is no "if you do bad" if you give yourself a solid month or two of studying. Basically it means full time DAT studying 7-8hrs.

Why would taking it in October reduce your chances? Are you applying for the 2011 cycle?

yea. im applying for 2011.
I thought early the better.. all people send their apps in during june and july..
Like.. i thought only a few applicants apply august and september..
so.. wouldn't taking DAT in October bad in terms of sending all the necessary paperworks to the dental schools with the application?
