HELP! Advice needed!

Ok so i sent out a couple of my apps to vet schools. Yesterday, my credit card (which i also used in sending out for my apps) was declined!! I was in total shock! I always payed my bills on time, and yet this happened!!
Anyway, i cleared that up today, but there are changes that incurred, and that would not be reflected on the credit card info i put on the applications!!
Am i totally screwed??? I'm going to call the uni's today (i think they may have recieved the applications by now), and ask them to change my credit card details... are they going to be ok with this?? Or are they going to ask me to re-send my application altogether?? Or altogether reject it??? 🙁🙁

I may have missed something, but...
- you sent out apps using a certain credit card number
- you have successfully made charges to that same card between then and yesterday (maybe?)
- your card was declined yesterday but it was a mistake and you've now cleared things up
- in clearing things up, your credit card number or expiration date changed (I don't see what account info you would have provided to the schools other than your card number, expiry date and address, anyway).

I guess I would call the schools, see if they charged the card yet. If they did, and the charge was not declined, then they've got their money and you're fine. (Presumably you could also check with your credit card company to see if there's a charge from the schools.) If they have not yet charged the card, then explain briefly that you had a problem with your account and give them the new card number or whatever the change in info was. I guess schools can be as malicious as they want, but I can't possibly see why they would decide to reject you just because your credit card info changed.

And... Relax! Provided your apps are successful, within four (five?) years people will be expecting you to calmly handle life-or-death emergencies. Surely a little credit card account mishap shouldn't send you into a blind panic... 😉

you could always check online at your CC company to see what charges have gone through. I think they all have a "current transactions" button there somewhere. It'll save you calling the ones that worked out ok.

acutally my CC number has now changed. It has taken place over the last 10 days or so apparently. So if the university has receieved my app and tried the number, it won't go through. Hope they didn't toss my app cause of that...
