If I left a clinical position on bad terms with the manager but I had significant experience there will listing it hurt me?

I volunteered in a hospital for 120+ hours but last year another employee blamed me for something I didn't do which was brought up with the volunteer coordinator and I was terminated. I want to write it down to show more clinical exposure but on the AMCAS activities section it asks for supervisor contact information. I originally put it down and put down my volunteer coordinator who could technically confirm the hours I worked there and the work I actually did but I'm afraid the coordinator, if contacted, will also bash me for something I didn't do. And I know I could explain it in the section but honestly if they do contact my supervisor it would be my word vs theirs and I think Med Schools would take the side of my supervisor.

LONG STORY SHORT, do med schools go through and individually contact each supervisor for each activity?

If so should I still add this position or should I not mention it altogether? If schools are not likely to contact each supervisor I would probably just write what I did in the position and not mention the conditions of my termination but if they do I would either not add this activity altogether or add it with a justification for my side of the story.

They are almost never contacted. Even if they are, it is to confirm the existence of the position and not for an evaluation of you. Think about it — no one has the time to call everyone for all applicants.

How do you know it's only to confirm the existence?

If you are worried about them contacting your manager, then you can place a co-workers info for the contact section.

The peers who I acquainted myself were all students though, don't schools prefer seeing a professional contact rather than a personal one?

Nope, no one cares. Again, AMCAS spells out very clearly the qualifications required of a contact person: someone who can confirm that your position is real. They do not have to be able to speak to your performance or evaluate you in any way.
I'm too lazy to find the original language; it's in the instructions manual (which no one reads, it seems...) if you want to dig it up.
