Well, this is my second try at posting something on SDN. I need some advice from those of you who've experienced something like this. I just took the DAT and did pretty well on all but the PAT--couldn't believe I only got 16 on that. Here are the scores:
AA: 21
PAT: 16
QR: 20
RC: 23
Bio: 19
GChem 25
Science 20
OChem 20

My overall GPA is 3.52 and Science is about 3.24. I had always done quite well on practice tests for PAT, but ran out of time on computer. I want to apply to UOP, UNLV, Arizona, Creighton, Marquette, Case Western and probably several more. Did this happen to any of you? I'll be working full time and taking summer school (night class) this summer and hate to think about re-taking the DAT in late August (90 days from now). Should I retake it anyway? Will the low PAT eliminate me from some of the schools? Please let me know what you think...I'd appreciate any advice.

No, you shouldn't retake the DAT, your scores are extremely competitive, as well as your GPA. The dental schools realize that your performance on the PAT doesn't not necessary translate to similar performance in your clinical abilities and therefore, although it is useful, they do not take very serious consideration into the score. It might even be damaging to you if you retake the DAT and do not perform as well (lower your scores) in other sections and only increases the PAT by 1 or 2 points!

Just go with these scores and apply early and you will get into your desire school(s).
