Hey guys, I've been wondering about this for a while, so I finally decided to get some advice. Many of the medical schools say they want either 3/4/whatever letters of recommendation OR a premedical committee letter. I have a premedical committee letter, but I was wondering, should I send in additional letters?? I have professors I could ask, but I don't know if the schools would be annoyed with the excess letters, or if I should risk sending in extra letters, because they might be only ok, not super letters. Should I just stick to the premed co letter? Thanks

If you have someone to write a letter about your character that would be beneficial.

No. Do not send anymore letters. The pre-med commitee letter is put together specifically so that all 3-4 of your recs are cut down to size and tailored into one letter. The adcoms prefer this and adding more letters if not looked down upon is certainly not going to score you any points.

Stick with the committee letter. The only case in which I would say another letter might be beneficial would be if it was from someone outside the school, like at a place you've volunteered -- and then, only if it would be a really strong letter.
