ARGH! I am an idiot. I just got an email from AMCAS telling me my application was processed. I was all YAY! Until I saw that I had forgotten to change four MD only programs to MD/PhD. What I had done is forgotten to scroll down when I changed program designations. I double checked but I forgot to scroll down the window. Who does that?

Thus my question is: is there ANY way I can get the designations fixed without having to resubmit and go through the entire waiting process again? I purposely got them in early and now I'm screwed.

I feel my face slowly going numb from the hyperventilating. And just when I thought I was finished...

They changed some stuff up this year for AMCAS so what I say might not be relevant anymore.

Most of the secondary applications I filled out had an explicit question about appling to the MD/PhD program (ie yes/no). You could just answer those questions appropriately and give the admissions office a heads up. Do that anyway for apps w/o the option of choosing MD/PhD.

As an aside, I don't think you'd have to wait very long to get the designations changed. Nothing to back that up, though.

Good luck!

Thanks for replying quickly. I actually called AMCAS like right when they opened today and asked. No extra time was needed and designations were changed immediately. The cool thing is that if your stuff is already processed you can change designations back and forth. Although I wouldn't do that too often. Or at least finish it early.
