Hi there, I'd be grateful for any feedback on the list of schools I'm planning on applying to this cycle

About me:
  • Incoming senior at UC Berkeley
  • CA resident
  • Total GPA: 3.79 / sGPA: 3.75
  • DAT: 21AA/22TS
  • 300+ hours shadowing (general, endo, ortho)
  • Work experience in 3 dental offices
  • Volunteering experience (dental & non-dental related) at local elementary school since freshman year
  • One research position
  • Lots of work experience (campus jobs, etc.)
  • Highschool biology tutor
List of schools:
  • UCLA
  • UCSF
  • UOP
  • USC
  • NYU
  • Boston University
  • Baylor (Texas A&M)
  • Univ. of Michigan
  • Univ. of Colorado
  • UPenn
  • Columbia
  • Creighton
  • Tufts
  • Case Western
  • Rutgers
Is it possible to get interviews at these schools? Would it be wise to drop or add any more? Thank you!!!!

I too dreamed of going to Baylor, but I took it out of my list. They don't look at too many OOS.

Ooh really? Great to know, thanks!

I have similar stats as you too, CA residence. All the schools im applying to are part of your list, but I thought about Tufts, NYU, UPenn, and Columbia also. I took all of those off my list atm because it costs a bit too much to apply and i think I will get into cali schools first anyway. UCLA & UCSF give us a better homefield advantage over UPenn and Columbia and are also way cheaper. Being so close to UCSF, I bet you have pretty big homefield advantage there! Side note, did you consider Western in pomona?

Yeah I think the CA schools will probably be our best bet being residents. I haven't looked into Western that much..are you applying there?

As of this point, yes!

I'm pretty sure your stats are good enough to get into all those schools, best of luck!
