Hi. I am starting my residency in NY in July, and wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions/recommendations on finding a nanny? Ideally, if someone is leaving the area, and doesn't need a nanny, I'd love to hear from you. Please PM me or post here!

Thanks so much.

I have always had the best luck advertising in small community newspapers about an hour away from the "big city". There will be a number of new high school grads about that time of year with no further educational plans who would love to get closer to the big city. Once I found a gem I enhanced their longevity as an employee by offering health insurance, car allowance, and free tuition to a local community college so they could have contact with other kids their age and keep their brains active/have a social outlet. If you go through a nanny agency, they are much more expensive, and more difficult to afford on a resident's salary. I was able to provide all the above (and social security as well) for far less than a nanny agency would charge.
