In case you're not on the listserve, here's an email about which schools are more likely to accept a UCD student. It's probably accurate for most of the other UCs too.
The following 40 institutions accepted 4 or more (r = 4-40) UC Davis students/alumni for the Fall 2001 entering class; unfortunately, similar data are not yet available for the Fall 2002 entering class, but we don't see too much variation in this list from year to year so this is probably fairly accurate. Additionally, UC Davis students/alumni were accepted by 34 other U.S. allopathic medical schools not included on this list (1-3 acceptances each). Unfortunately, similar data for osteopathic and foreign medical schools (and other health professions) is not currently available.

A word about the UCs: As a California resident, you have preference for the 569 seats available at the 5 UC medical schools. Unfortunately, there were about 3,070 California residents (with preference) who applied for these seats for Fall of 2002; only 46 (8%) of the UC seats went to out-of-state residents (see MSAR for details). Still, there were almost 6 California resident applicants with preference for each UC seat. Alas. But don't despair as many UC Davis graduates are accepted to UC medical schools each year!
