i just got accepted to MCPHS boston. I am trying to apply for student loans. However, there was a very rude guy working for the financial aid office telling me that the school set a limit for the studen's cost of attendance to 41000. However, i am a transfer student and not qualified for the grad plus loan. All i got is just the federal loan. Tuition fee and health insurance together add up to 31000. So i only have 10000 left for housing and meals. This amount is not enough for me. If anyone who has the same situation, please share your thoughts. Please let me know if you can apply for another type of loan...Thanks🙂

Looks to me like you've got a couple options:

1. Get a job! Great way to supplement income and no interest plus you're going to need intern hours to get your license anyway.

2. Private loan. Not a good idea since you will be paying it back while you're in school but it's better than starving.

Why didn't you qualify for a plus loan? Can you get your parents or someone to cosign for you?

thanks for your help. However, this school is weird. This is a 6 years pharmd program and they only consider 5th and 6th year students as graduate students. I am a transfer student (3rd year) and they consider me as an undergrade. Sooo ridiculous, i had BS already!!!. They also set a max amount of student's cost of attendance, so if you can not get what you want because the school will certify the loan. I did my calculation for livign expenses and gosh!!!!NOT ENOUGH TO JUST SURVIVE. Why do they treat transfer student like that? Especially the guys working for the financial aid office, he is a Jerk!!!He told me that my questions were ridiculous? So dissapointed for MCPHS, Boston!!!!What a shame!!!
