I need some advice...

I am applying to vet school for the first time this cycle. I just graduated with my BS this May but I have a couple classes on my transcript that I need to re-take because I did so poorly. My first semester of college I got a D in Bio 2. I never retook the class. I got an F in Latin my second semester of college because I stopped going to class and I never retook the class. (I was at a weird time in my life and looking back on it I don't know what the hell I was thinking). Anyways...

Obviously almost all vet schools have Bio 2 in the required courses and I know I need to take that class again so I have signed up for it at community college this fall. My question is do I need to re-take the Latin class? Will it be a waste of money and time to re take that class when it isn't on the prerequisites? Or will vet schools look at the class and automatically reject me because I have an F on my transcript? Even if I re-take the Latin class, the F will still be on my transcript because I would sign up for Latin at community college and not at the university.

I'm wondering if it would be a better use of my time to work full time the vet clinic where I work and forget about taking the Latin class and just hope that my experiences and last 45 hour GPA and GRE make up for it... or should I just suck it up and take Latin 101 again? I'm really not looking forward to taking a 4 credit class that I don't really need but if vet schools will look at my transcript and think it's a bad thing that I didn't even try to re-take the class then I am willing to do the class again. Any advice would be helpful. Thank u 🙂

I second TT. You obviously need to retake Bio 2 since its a pre-req, but language isn't, besides English, so no worries. Be prepared to explain it better than, "I didn't want to go to class because I was 19", and be prepared to show how you have obviously matured and grown. People mess up, they get that, as long as you can explain it well and demonstrate it wont happen in vet school, I wouldn't worry too much.
