Hi everyone!
I am going to be at Bradenton this friday! I am so nervous - this is one of my top schools and I don't want to mess it up! 😱
Has anyone gone to interview there - if so any words of advice.

Anyone going to be there this friday????????

I just need words of wisdom, because I am totally freaking out!
This is my second interview and I don't think my first went that great. I really hope to get into this school..... 😀

I cant offer you any advice for the interview but I'm from Bradenton...from what i've read on this site the school just needs to know your interested in going there and that you'll be a happy energetic addition to the class. You've demonstrated all of these things in a couple of sentences.

Remember if they were't confident in your academics you wouldn't have gotten the interview so just relax...smile...and think posetive thoughts, your interest in the school and enthusiasm will do the rest. Good luck!!

I did not interview at Bradenton. However, I have interviewed at AZCOM and DMU and I would recommend going over their (Brandenton) website, interview feedback for the school on this site, and your PS/secondary. And I guess the best advice most people give is to just be yourself and honest. I know it's hard, especially during the actual interview, but like the above poster said, these interviews are not to grill you per se, but to get to know who you are and if you "fit" with their school. If you can't answer a question, just state that you can't answer it. You're not expecting to know every political policy or health policy out there. Good luck and hopefully this calms your nerves.

Thanks so much - ahhh its so hard not to be stressed.
I personally hate q's like "who are you?" and "why do u wanna be doc?" -

When the adcom's ask me "who are you" I don't really talk about my academic career because you most likely talked about it in your PS/secondary. I just talk about hobbies, significant others, etc. Talk about something that may incite a question from an interviewer or that will get a chuckle. When you see them laughing, you sort of become more relaxed bc you realize they are people. As for the Why be a doc q, good luck with that. Good luck again.

I know you probably hate it when people tell you this (I know I did), but interviews here really are very laid back. No one will be asking you to open the window that's nailed shut. 😉 Poke around in the interview feedback or do a search from last year for some more advice/questions, the basic ones are listed below.

1.Tell us something about yourself that we couldn’t find in your file.
2.Give a conflict that you were involved and how you resolved it.
3.Do you feel you are a good communicator and why?
4.Give an example when a group approach worked better than an individual.
5.Tell us about a stressful situation and how you dealt with the stress.
6.What would a friend tell us your strengths and weaknesses are?
7. Summarize the article that you read.

The article thing is really easy - they will give you 15 minutes or so to read an article and then ask you some questions or to briefly summarize it. The articles are straight forward - maybe on something like obesity and MI risk.

This site also has some good general info about interviewing for med school:

I think you will find everyone here is very friendly and helpful, so ask if you have any questions. Best of luck!
