Hi, I'm starting my application process for this cycle and would like to seek some advice about where I stand and where are some good schools I should apply to?

Tennessee resident

Stats:
3.7 cum GPA, 3.72 science GPA
Just took the MCAT so idk the score, but I'm expecting around a 32 (~10 PS, ~12 VR, ~10 BS)

ECs:
1 semester of shadowing at a medical center
2 semesters and 3 summers of research
a couple of leadership positions in cultural organizations
2 semesters of volunteering for an org that goes out to teach science classes at middles schools in the city
some other clubs and stuff

So far the only 2 schools I'm for sure applying to are University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt
Where would i stand on those schools, and what are some other schools that I would be potentially competitive at? Looking for a few top tiers and some mid-tiers

Any helpful feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

If you are a URM, you might want to add
Meharry
Howard
.........OR.........
Univ Kentucky
Boston Univ
Tufts
Georgetown
George Washington
Albany medical
....

I'm asian, so not URM

I was thinking about Tufts, Boston Univ, Georgetown, and GWU as well, but how competitive would I be among the applicants for those schools? I know Georgetown and GWU get like 10k+ apps...

What do you think of my chances for:
Virginia Commonwealth
UMich
Michigan State
Wake Forest
Univ Southern California
Univ Rochester
Northwestern

Anywhere else?

Ok, i would have to see your mcat score to discern that. Your Ecs are very good, so you will be fine. Just make sure in your PS that you include something that will make you stand out in the school's mission.

cheers.

Thanks

Do you think I should keep UMich and MSU on the list of schools to apply to or should i drop them because I'll be OOS. Or is their in-state preference not too bad

So here's a tentative list of the schools i'd like to apply to so far:

Vanderbilt
Northwestern
Boston University
Georgetown
George Washington
Univ of Southern California (Kech)
Penn State
Saint Louis Univ
Tufts
U Michigan
U Rochester
U Tennessee (state school)
Virginia Commonwealth
Wake Forest

I think that's 14 so far. Can anyone advise if it's too top-tier heavy or do I have a decent spread? For example is UMich too hard for OOS, so I drop it from the list?

Thanks

It's fine. Add some NY schls like albany medical college or New York medical college.
