iam actually a pre-dental student and have recently taken the Dental admission test. i was thinking to switch to medicine and hopefully apply to one of the Carribean Med schools, Do they accept the DATs instead of the Mcat?

Actually, that's not true. My husband went to Ross and one of his classmates got in with his DAT. They didn't ask him to take the MCAT. Good luck!

What year was that? There was a time that Ross did not require the MCAT.

The OP might try SABA as they don't require MCATs.

well i'll edit my comment then and say SGU will not take DAT as an equivalent to an MCAT.

here's a suggestion to the OP though. Since all we're doing is speculating on this forum. why not take the 5min it takes to call up the school admissions and ask them for yourself. that way you have first hand info instead of some hearsay. "My cousins third uncle's girlfriend's brother needed to take the mcat."

I agree. Once again, I am only speaking on behalf of Ross. I've heard of numerous people who got in with their DAT score, but I can only speak on behalf of our friend because I know him personally. The best way to find an answer to your question is to call the school yourself. Good luck.

There are some exceptions to the rules. Sometimes you don't need either of those two exams. You can ask Ross to send you their brochures.

You should contact each school individually to ask them about this. There is no universally accepted answer since the quality and requirements among Carribbean schools differ substantially.
