Okay so I'm going to be perfectly honest right now, I am freaking out that I ruined my chances to get into medical school because of a combination of goofing off and family circumstances. As of right now, I have an institutional GPA of 3.62 but it's probably lower when converted to AMCAS GPA. Below are my grades in science classes so far.
Gen Chem1: B-
Gen Chem2:C+
Bio 1: A
Bio 2: grade not yet posted but most likely a C
Algebra: B
Pre-Calc: B+
Calc: grade not yet posted but most likely a D
This semester my parents had to keep traveling for the family outside the country and because of that, I had to take care of my little brother which resulted in the D in Calc and C in Bio. I plan on retaking Calc over the summer and am not sure if I should retake the C's because I know I can do better in my future classes. The C+ in chemistry was because I was not focused enough and I took it over the summer. I have a lot of classes left to take but I am having a panic attack that I ruined my chances totally.
I'm not going to try and make any excuses for myself I just want to know what I should do and if I can get my act together and get all A's from this point onward and get a high MCAT score will I be able to get into a good medical school? I calculated and found out assuming I get all A's from this point on my BCPM would be 3.5 and my cumulative GPA would be 3.6. I also already volunteer at a hospital and plan on starting shadowing soon. Also, I am an Asian female. PLEASE, someone, help me and give me some guidance on how to get into medical school with the grave I dug for myself.

What year are you in? When do you plan to apply? You haven’t ruined your chances yet but you have to do better. Don’t plan on getting all As but do the best you can and see where you are when you graduate. Every premed student plans on getting an amazing MCAT score so be realistic. Work on your grades first and as you get into a groove do your ECs! Don’t forget nonclinical volunteering to those less fortunate than yourself. And one other thing, if you manage to get into a US medical school it will be a good school. So stop asking if you’ll get into a “good” medical school. Good luck!

I am a sophomore and I plan on applying in the summer of 2020.

You might want to wait until you graduate so all of your grades are included in your GPAs. See where you are in JANUARY 2020 and make a decision.

It means that you only want to apply one time with the very best application possible. To apply before you are ready is foolish. Applicants with near perfect applications are rejected every cycle. So give yourself the best chance possible. Always remember that only 40 percent of applicants are accepted each cycle. So don’t hurry the process.

What state are you a resident of?

The hardest premed courses are yet to come. Orgo I and Orgo II usually give people trouble. Physics I and Physics II also tend to give people trouble. I wouldn't take those in the same semesters.

Look, don't take this personally but just by reading your first post I am going to say your chances of getting into a US program are slim to none.

Can you elaborate as to why?

It's something you will have to figure out for yourself. Might I suggest you take a semester of at least three lab sciences and a total of 18 credits and get straight A's. If you can do that, then you'll probably answer your own concerns.

Also, like some other have posted. There really is no such thing as a "good" medical school here in the US. You either get into medical school or you don't. I'd like for you to do some research on that.

You’re an idiot. OP youre doing fine. Step up your game, do better in your remaining courses and do well on the MCAT. Rising trends are a good thing.

Again... HOW are YOU not banned yet?

@Stressd-premed

You still have a shot but your downward trend in math courses bodes poorly for your chances in physics 1 and 2. Definitely retake Calculus 1; you'll need those concepts for physics 1 and 2 (whether or not you take calculus based physics).

If your university offers a non-calculus track in physics 1 and 2, you might consider taking that track.

Organic chemistry, especially first semester, trips up a lot of students. It has only a little to do with general chemistry but will introduce you to a whole new way of thinking. I would take Orgo 1 and 2 with some easier classes that you would need for medical school, such as psychology and sociology.

Do not get caught up in doing too much before you establish a solid academic base where you're able to take a full courseload while getting mostly As.
