I am an asian students who leave America at 8 years old. And I wanna go back to America, taking DAT exam. I majored in Biological science. So I am familiar with the subject of exam. But there are no man and no course which can teach about DAT. Is there any advise for me? I wanna get an admission on 2008. Is it ok that I study GRE bio or chem for DAT exam. um...gimme some advise!

you must be newb here🙂
I think pretty much everyone studies on theri own unless taking Kaplan prep course

I'm studying with Kaplan book along ap bio, ap chem, examkracker(bio, chem, ochem), campbell book, destroyer and destroyer ochem and all along with textbook
and taking online lecture from webcast.berkeley.edu and using wikipedia.com to get more details on stuff which I'm not familiar
(but only book I bought is Kaplan blue book, rest, got from someone else, good thing that I know many people who are pursuing in health-related career 🙂

try to study EVERYTHING you can get hands on
then you will be golden.. 🙂

and for me, after March, I'll be done!!

UM..You means that kaplan book is good for all students are studing DAT.

Ok!

But I studied by these book in my school

Bio : Life
chem : Oxtoby
Orgnic chem : Mcmurry?
Physics : Halliday? Holliday?

Is it Ok that I study these books once more and take a pre-testing exam in Kaplan book?

(And my GPA is 3.6/4.3 and sGPA is 3.8/4.3 in school of biological science at Seoul National University;
Do I have to make a better grade for entering Dental school?
My school is maybe not popular to western people. haha 😀)

Yeah, textbooks are definitely more detailed and good to study from. But the point of study guides is to condense everything so you don't have as much reading to do. If you've got enough time to read all those books, you should be fine. Otherwise, get AP study guides and Schaum's books.

Before you start studying for the DAT it would be wise to contact schools regarding the requirements for foreign students. I imagine it's a different process.

um...I have an american citizenship. (I was born in Texas. But I had got all educating course in Korea. It's so tough..I had to study 16hours/day)
toothhead! what are AP study guide and Schaum's book? 😀
Are they pre-testing books?

AP-books and schuams are just condensed study guides for the particular subject... these books arent designed particularly for DAT.
and you mentioned Physics in one of your earlier posts... DAT does not contain a physics section.. but it does have a
Biology, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Quantitative reasoning, PAT, Reading Comprehension.. you can take a good simulated test with-DAT Achiever and TopScore for DAT. they each provide you with 3 simulated tests on your computer, and both of them have their ups and downs...(more ups then downs)

you can find a general scope of the exam at the dat registration website .. read there.
